The Words of a Duchebag

Some context: We worked together. We were good friends. By the end of the summer we were flirty, but I was involved with someone else, who, in the end, blew up in my face. We talked on and off in Sept. then Oct. and Nov. by Dec. we were talking all the time. We had skype dates, we texted, laughed, joked. I really liked him. More than I liked anyone in a long time. I saw a potential BF, when I had only ever had one, which lasted 6 years. I had been alone for a while, it was so refreshing to feel close to someone, despite the distance. Feb. rolled around, and we talked a little less, but I had just started in on my last semester of college, I was busy. He sent me roses on Valentine’s day. We talked even less. A whole week and a half went by between Feb. and March when we didn’t talk, leading up to my birthday. He said his phone was acting up and needed to get a new one; he’d been busy, too. It was my birthday. We had less than 5 minutes to talk before I literally had to run to get to class on time, but I wanted to see his face, it had been so long and talking to him would make my day. (I hate my birthday). He was so sweet, and promised we’d talk later. I waited two days before I realized later wasn’t ever going to come. I just heard from him for the first time since March 5th, its now May 27th.

Defeated (me): Can I at least have a reason? I’d think you’d owe me that, at least.

Duchebag (him): honestly i freaked out sumthing happened and it hit me that our long distance relationship woudnt last so i disappeared…
